“Years of love have been forgot, in the hatred of a minute.”

Edgar Allan Poe

Years ago, on a visit home from Milwaukee, I was probably 21, and my uncle asked me who I had fallen in love with out there. He said its was a habit of mine: falling in love right away with the person I was dating. Truthfully: he was right. Now, at 26, I’m not looking for love anymore. I’m basically functioning with a serious inquiries only disclaimer, I don’t want to play games, I’m not trying to  like party with you and take you home one night at all, I juts need to know that I have your heart & support, and most importantly right now that you believe in me. And don’t misinterpret this and think that Im feeling like time is running out, cus really I’m just getting started. But I can’t help but feel a sense of urgency and a desire to grow up…. together.

My romantic relationships have always had unique forms and varying degrees of formality—I mean, I’ve seen myself through more than a decades worth of relationships with women, and at this point, its more like i really need to know you’re down for the team. That you understand me, and we listen to each other, and that I can trust you. My last affair, I’ll call her Second-Chance Stacy, proved to me one thing: that women are not afraid to lie and deceive in order to test the waters of a relationship. Unfortunately, this means they will say things that they don’t necessarily mean, or don’t feel as strongly about as they make it seem. Its easy for women to demand commitment, monogamy, and dedication from their man at a very early stage of the relationship, and often they don’t mean any of that shit and will not reciprocate immediately. — Second Stacy sure had no problem forgetting about all those kinds words she said. Clearly I’m still bitter, but a woman with lies & loaded words is as dangerous as a woman with a loaded gun.

“Do not confuse peace of mind with spaced-out insensitivity. A truly peaceful mind is very sensitive, very aware.”

Tenzin Gyatso, The 14th Dalai Lama
